Returning back to training after a break can be tough- heres some positive mindset tips to help you embrace the tough stuff and get you to where you want to be.

Over the past 10 years as a personal trainer, I have had the opportunity to train all different personalities, different goals, fitness levels, ages & gender.

 

At the end of the day it comes down to you and your mindset- your body wont go where your mind wont let it. 

 

A huge setback I've found is someone returning to training after a set back- wether it be a year, a month or even a week with a cold...

 

Theres that negative mindset of "ohhh Im so unfit" "slow and steady" "I cant do it" 

 

I find theres a pattern every time! All I can say is never doubt yourself & be proud of yourself that you've returned. Try and embrace the pain- the being un-fit feeling.... Its not fun!!!!

Tell yourself this "two weeks from now" & just keep going!!!! tell yourself this "don't stop until you fall" 

I promise you will be surprised with yourself at how far you come, how much quicker! 

In two weeks time you will see & feel a difference and you will regain your confidence, and love the feeling of feeling fitter and wan to keep going.

 

Don’t let a fixed mindset hold you back from what you’re capable of.

 

And just because some people seem naturally good at something, doesn’t mean that others can’t do it, and sometimes even better with training.

 

Many growth-minded people didn’t even plan to go to the top.  They got there as a result of doing what they love.  It’s ironic: The top is where the fixed-mindset people hunger to be, but it’s where many growth-minded people arrive as a by-product of their enthusiasm for what they do.”

 

When you embrace the tough stuff, you open yourself up to fully realising your potential and all that you can be.
